Even if it wasn't today- Bedivere doubted Dazai would take the offer when he was nearly free and the opponent was distracted- would Dazai eventually take an offer like that?
That was a dark thought he tried to push out of his mind, as he grit his teeth and returned to cutting the ropes. Just a few more seconds, and he would be free.]
