It's not, but anything I'm used to wearing that ties shut like this usually has loops to secure the belt on. Getting it around my waist without those is proving difficult.
[He did sound apologetic though, he knew how awkward of a spot it put them both in. He also didn't know how to properly layer the yukata, and it looked a mess on him. He would need much more practice in wearing one to get it properly.
